Zoya Akhtar’s next project is yet another ambitious one, fitting in with exactly what she’s known for. BizAsia has learnt that the film – which will star Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar – is titled after a song from her previous blockbuster film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ (2011). It’s called ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.
The film, as BizAsia has revealed before, will be set on a cruise in the most part and recent reports suggest that it will be about a dysfunctional Punjabi family. The film will span European countries such as Italy, France and Spain as well as Tunisia. Singh and Chopra will be playing brother-sister in the film and Sharma will be Singh’s love interest. There was talk about Farhan playing Chopra’s other half in the film but this hasn’t yet been confirmed.
Apparently, the role of the leading lady opposite Anil Kapoor is thought to be a toss between Madhuri Dixit-Nene andTabu. Akhtar is currently in discussions with both. It will be even more of a casting coup than it already is if Akhtar is able to put Kapoor on screen again with Dixit-Nene.
‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ should go on the floors in May.
