India’s upmarket showbiz channel Zoom TV has had its UK launch date pushed back to next year.
ARY Digital will be distributing the channel in the UK and Europe. Even though officials have confirmed Zoom will be launching in 2007, there’s still uncertainty surrounding the exact launch date. A source at ARY said:
“Sky have a busy period in December- launching on an average about 20 channels every month till January. Hence we didn’t know the launch date till last week. We are still considering a concrete date for launch though.”
Asked if Zoom TV could launch along with ARY’s other upcoming channels (Sahara One and Filmy – both being launched in the UK by ARY), the broadcaster said it was too early to comment on this:
“We are still awaiting the Sahara EPG launches. I am not in a position to say whether they will be launched together. Ideally if we get the launch dates for EPGs, we would like to, but can’t say anything yet.”
