Zoom TV to launch on Sky in UK?

Popular Bollywood entertainment channel, Zoom TV is rumoured to be gearing up for a launch on Sky in the coming weeks.

According to sources close to BizAsiaLive.com , Zoom TV is expected to launch on the digital TV platform this summer. Parent company Times Network is yet to officially comment on the speculation but here are a few observations:

Zoom TV – high on entertainment content
With entertainment channels performing well in the UK, Zoom TV could prove a success but it remains to be seen if it will launch as a secondary channel to sister service, Times Now. However, with Times Now ratings on the lower side, speculation is rife over its future.

Zoom TV – Its UK competitors
The channel will face stiff competition from market leader, Zing, which has a similar output including Bollywood gossip, youth programming and music. As well as Zing, Zoom TV will also be impacted by music channels B4U Music and the forthcoming Sony Mix and MTV Beats services in the UK.

Zoom TV is already available on Freeview through streaming service Vision TV on EPG 244.
