Zing, &TV, Living Foodz & ZEE TV HD shutdown in UK

In response to the current state of the UK Asian TV market, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited has pulled the curtains down on Zing, &TV, Living Foodz and ZEE TV HD.

As of today, the four channels will no longer be available on any television platform in the UK, including Sky and Virgin Media. Only ZEE TV (standard definition) and ZEE Cinema will continue broadcasting in this territory. The broadcasting giant will also focus on upping the ante around its digital platform, ZEE5.

Over the past few weeks, ZEE TV and ZEE Cinema have already begun telecasting shows from Zing, &TV and Living Foodz. With its new schedule, ZEE TV is broadcasting over 15 hours of original programming per day.

Zing, which launched as ZEE Music in the 90s, has been one of the longest running channels in its field. While viewing figures have been average for the channel, it has delivered consistently. Similarly, &TV – the network’s second Hindi entertainment channel, launched with a bang initially but popularity waned over the years.
