‘Zero’ makers respond to complaint about hurting Sikh sentiments

The trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s much talked about next ‘Zero’ is creating quite a buzz, with appreciation from fans all over. However, over the last couple of the days, the trailer has also sparked controversy over a certain scene where Khan is allegedly holding a kirpan, which has resulted in makers being accused of hurting Sikh sentiments.

Responding to these reports, a statement from the producers said, “Your concern is duly noted and we wish to respectfully clarify that the film does not depict a Kirpan. The filmmakers have been careful not to hurt the feelings of any community including the Sikh community.”

“The film is about celebrating incompleteness and to tell a heartfelt story. We trust you will appreciate our stand that any concern this may have caused is completely inadvertent,” the statement concluded.
