ZEE’s Kabhi Haan… & Sony’s Ayushman to end

Two dramas are coming to an end on both ZEE TV and Sony Entertainment in the next few weeks, it was confirmed today.

ZEE TV’s Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Sony’s Ayushman will both bidding farewell due to the declining popularity of both these shows. Incidentally the two dramas had only launched a couple of months back and are being wound down to make way for fresh programming.

For Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, trouble began brewing after Mihir Misra was fired from the show. His replacement Gaurav Chopra also did not change the show’s fortunes. What more, ZEE TV UK will be moving the show next week to a later time outside prime time. It will be moved from its existing 10:30pm slot to 11:00 from Monday (2nd May). This is the show’s third new time, it initially launched in the 10pm slot. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’s producer Shrishti Ary has also revealed that another show for ZEE is in the offing and will hit screens in July.

The last episode of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa will be shown in India on 18th May but will remain on screen in the UK until June.

Sony’s soap Ayushman, which has been running daily for the past few weeks will be coming to a premature end next month too. When contacted by Filmi Chakar, Sudeep Sahir who plays the title role said, “I would not like to comment until I hear it officially from either Cinevistaas or Sony,” but added, “No matter what, Ayushman has given me a big platform to showcase my talent. I have learnt many aspects of acting. It has been a wonderful experience.”

Cinevistaas’ Creative Director Siddharth Malhotra was far more forthcoming, “The show is going off air. We are disappointed. We would have loved if this hadn’t happened. But what to do? The channel has taken a call,” he said, adding, “Sony officials have informed us about the termination but the official letter is still to come.”

The producers of Cinevistaas are currently in the process of making ZEE TV’s new soap Palkhi.
