ZEEL: “ZEE TV & ZEE Cinema have no association with ZEE News”
In an effort to clearly disassociate its entertainment brands from its news entity, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has released a statement to clarify the positioning of its ZEEL channels from its ZEE Media news services.
The corporate statement from ZEEL said, “Vide this note, the Company wishes to reiterate that Zee TV and Zee Cinema are entertainment channels of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), a global media and entertainment company. The channels or the Company are not associated with any news entity and hence do not endorse the views expressed by any news channel. The company also wishes to clarify that it has no association with Zee News, which is a news channel of a separate public listed entity – Zee Media Corporation Ltd (ZMCL). ZEEL does not endorse any editorial views expressed by Zee News, or any other news channel or digital news platform.
That said, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL), would like to categorically emphasise that it does not endorse any views expressed by any news channel or digital news platform of ZEE Media Corporation Ltd. (ZMCL) and that it has no connection whatsoever with, and is wholly independent of, ZEE Media Corporation Ltd. (ZMCL).”
A company spokesperson said, “We would like to reassure and reiterate to members of the public, business owners, our clients, industry associates and stakeholders that Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) is purely an entertainment company and is not associated with any news entity (including Zee News, which is owned by a separate listed entity) and hence does not endorse the views expressed by any news channel or digital news platform. We would like to take this opportunity to reassure that we are an independent and separate entity that is only focused on offering extraordinary entertainment content for its viewers.”
