ZEE5 sees 36% jump in subscribers since September 2018

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited is rejoicing after its digital platform, ZEE5 saw a jump of 36% in subscriber numbers between the September and December 2018 period.

The company has increased its presence in various international markets, with ZEE5 now available in the UK and Middle East. ZEE5 now boasts of 56 million monthly active users, according to figures until the end of December.

“ZEE5 is scaling up in line with our expectations and is on course to become India’s number one digital entertainment platform,” said ZEEL chairman Subhash Chandra.

ZEEL MD and CEO Punit Goenka tweted, “ZEE5 is quickly establishing itself as a leading digital entertainment platform.”

Incidentally, ZEE5 rival and India’s leading digital platform, Hotstar announced yesterday that it is launching a slew of new original shows under the ‘Hotstar Specials’ brand, in March.
