ZEE wins India cricket rights

ZEE Network has won the lucrative deal of broadcasting rights for all international matches to be played in India for the next four years. BCCI, the Indian Cricket?s Nodal Agency, had invited bids of telecasting international matches in India and domestic cricket for a period of four years effective from October this year.

ZEE Telefilms Chairman Subhash Chandra was doubtful on the fair selection of the bids and had threatened in a press conference that if his bid is ignored and not given a proper justice as per rule, he may take the matter to the court to get his rightful dues.

ZEE Network will be launching its sports channel in India on 2nd October (on the day of ZEE TV’s 12th year on air in India). A name of the channel has not yet been confirmed but we have been told by reliable sources that the channel is getting ready for an international launch also on which it will show exclusively the Indian cricket matches, plus other sports such as Hockey, Football and Tennis.
