ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited will be launching the HD variation of flagship channel, ZEE TV in the UK.

BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal that from Thursday 1st March 2018, ZEE TV HD will officially begin broadcasting on Sky channel 788 replacing the SD feed, for subscribers of the Sky HD pack. This will be the first HD channel under the ZEE brand in the UK market.

As a part of the change, &TV HD will exit but will continue broadcasting in SD. Programme data for &TV HD is no longer listed from Thursday 22nd February, making way for the launch of ZEE TV HD. ZEE will then focus primarily on HD content on ZEE TV. However, BizAsiaLive.com understands that the move to remove &TV HD is temporary as it is expected to return later in the year, along with ZEE Cinema HD.

ZEE TV HD will compete directly with rival flagship Hindi entertainment channels, Star Plus HD, Sony Entertainment Television HD and Colors HD on the Sky platform.

At the time of filing this article, BizAsiaLive.com was awaiting a response from ZEE UK.
