ZEE UK head Virad Kaul leaves network

The head of ZEE UK/Europe, Virad Kaul has left the company after just under a year in the job.

Kaul who was spearheading the business in this territory took charge in November last year – possibly the shortest stints in UK Asian TV history. He left towards the end of last week. Parul Goel has been temporary been put in charge until a replacement has been announced.

During his tenure at ZEE UK/Europe, Kaul was responsible for overhauling ZEE Cafe by removing cricket from the channel and repositioning as a second entertainment channel. Under his leadership, old timers – Sangraam Marathe and Shaney Burney left the organisation.

Virad was earlier the CEO of ZEE Turner Ltd, the joint venture company between the two media conglomerates ZEE (ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited) and Turner International.

Prior to Kaul, Govind Shahi was looking after the UK/Europe business of the network – he left to join Heath Media and later heading Colors/Rishtey UK/Europe.
