ZEE TV UK confirms new shows launch dates

ZEE TV has confirmed the UK launch dates for its two new dramas, which are starting on ZEE TV India this week.

As a part of ZEE TV India’s strategy to begin primetime shows earlier than its rivals, it will commence original shows from 18:00 (weekdays). However, ZEE TV UK is not implementing that same change here.

What the channel is doing in the UK is launching ‘Bhagonwali…Baante Apni Taqdeer’ as an afternoon show from this Tuesday (7th December) at 14:00 (a day after the launch in India).

The story revolves around Runjhun, a beautiful, simple girl who brings good fortune wherever she goes.

The second show is ‘Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharmyudh’, which has been confirmed as the replacement for the soon-to-end, ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’. The show launches on Monday 20th December at 19:00. ‘Mera Naam Karegi Roshan’ ends on Thursday 16th December.

The story revolves around Geeta who stands up to protect her loved ones who become victims of Section 498A – a power granted to women by the Indian Government for their protection. This is a Right given to Indian women to use if they are being ill treated in any manner by their in-laws. The use and abuse of this Right forms the premise of ‘Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharmyudh’.

About the shows Sukesh Motwani, Head Fiction Programming, ZEE TV said, “The concepts of both, Apno Ke Liye…Geeta Ka Dharma Yudha and Bhagonwali…Baante Apni Taqdeer, are very different and unique in nature. They are female centric shows and capture the essence of the young and emerging small town North Indian women. Their aspirations, dreams and issues will be brought to the fore in a manner that will surely captivate the audiences. It is a paradigm shift and we are hoping that they will become appointment viewing like our other primetime shows.”
