ZEE TV to replace ‘Maa’ with daily gameshow

ZEE TV has lined up a daily gameshow in the place of ‘Maa’, which is set to end later this month.

‘Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein Fursat Ke Lamhe’ is being launched in an effort to differeniate its programming to closest rivals STAR Plus, Colors and Sony Entertainment Television Asia.

‘Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein’ is produced by ZEE Network. The format is being based on ‘Home Minister’, a highly popular show on ZEE Marathi.

The new show is a competition between two families who will be asked questions that gets tougher as the rounds progress. Each family will have one anchor by their side, Manish Paul and Vipul Roy.

ZEE TV business head Nitin Vaidya said, “As a channel we always imbibe learning from across the network to create successful shows. Like we translated success in the Hindi GEC with Dance India Dance, we are now launching Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein۪. Our basic endeavour is to help the families spend good time together and experience their strong bonding which is a rare concept in today۪s fast paced lifestyle. Also the show will provide us with a platform to connect directly with our audiences while we witness their real emotions and excitement.”

In the UK, ‘Maa’ will end on Friday 8th May. ‘Chotti Bahu’ will move to the 19:30 band from Monday 11th May, with ‘Ranbir Rano’ being transformed into a daily, taking the 19:00 slot. It is not yet known when ‘Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein’ will commence in the UK seeing as the channel’s primetime schedule is packed out with original shows.
