ZEE TV to don new look with return of soaps

ZEE TV is marking the return of its daily soaps with a brand new look, come Monday (8th December).

The new packaging branded ‘Har Pal Banaye Ek Naya Rishta’, which went live in India on Monday 1st December will be rolled out in the UK next week. It will highlight ZEE TV’s core audience – a woman – this very woman in her various moods and nuances. This woman is rooted in tradition and is able to mix with her family while being contemporary at the same time. She is the centre of the universe but regards her family as the source of inspiration.

The 30-second master promo brings out the journey of the ZEE TV woman in all her relationships- with her family, her children, her husband, and God.

The music is by the inimitable trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. There is a predominance of butterflies and flower vines that depict the nature of the woman in question. Some interesting details about the packaging: The graphics for this video are by Tata Elexi, who are also associated with shows like ‘Dhoom’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’, ‘Roadside Romeo’, to name a few.

Also, the channel has used real images (kids, wife, husband, grand-parents) not surreal ones to depict the ideology of the channel. These are people one can associate and identify with, and that’s what the channel is all about.

Another interesting point to note is the amalgamation of the five elements Fire, Water, Ether, Air and Earth in the video. It talks about the ZEE woman being Traditional and family oriented yet progressive at the same time, which is also portrayed through the female characters from the shows on the channel.

Whilst old favourites like ‘Teen Bahuraniyan’, ‘Saat Phere’, ‘Kasamh Se’, ‘Dulhann…Banoo Mein Teri’, ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann’, ‘Maayka’ and ‘Naginn’ will return on Monday 8th December, two new additions ‘Shrii’ and ‘Choti Bahu’ will debut in weeks later.

ZEE Next shows, which were used as temporary replacements on ZEE TV UK will remain on the channel even after the original shows return. ‘Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat’ and ‘Ek Thi Rajkumari’ will move to weekly 18:00 slots at the weekend.
