ZEE TV HD launches on Sky platform

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited has launched a HD variation of its flagship channel, ZEE TV, in the UK market.

The popular channel, is available exclusively on the Sky platform, on EPG 788 – replacing the standard definition channel, for subscribers of the Sky HD pack. Viewers who do not subscribe to the pack, will continue receiving the standard version as they have been.

ZEE TV HD has ultimately replaced &TV HD, which was the first and only HD channel from the ZEE umbrella. However, the HD version of &TV was shutdown last month, to make way for ZEE TV HD today. As a part of the changes, ZEE TV HD is expected to air big movies in HD quality over the weekend, a property that was extremely popular on &TV HD previously.

ZEE TV HD is now going head to head with Star Plus HD, Sony Entertainment Television HD and Colors HD, which have been broadcasting HD services for some time. It remains to be seen how much the HD variation will ramp up viewing figures for ZEE TV in the UK.
