ZEE TV axes troubled show ‘Mamta’

ZEE TV has confirmed that it will be axing its troubled daily soap ‘Mamta’.

It was reported earlier this month that the channel had decided to drop its female protagonist Narayani Shastri/from the soap due to her demanding ways.

According to Mid-Day, Narayani is set to shoot her death scene and producer Sheel Kumar is working overtime to give the show a logical end.

Narayani told Mid-Day, “Sheel told me he was terminating my character a little before the last episode as that would save him money. I۪m going by his word. I will be shooting the death scene day after tomorrow. It has to be done in the next 48 hours as I۪m leaving for Mauritius for the Gold Awards soon.”

‘Mamta’ ends on Wednesday 10th October in India and will be taken off ZEE TV UK at the end of October. ZEE is expected to replace ‘Mamta’ with a new Jay Mehta soap.
