ZEE to pull out of cricket rights deal with Disney?
ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited will reportedly pull out of the cricket TV rights deal with Disney, worth $1.4 billion.
Last year, it had signed a strategic licence agreement with Disney to broadcast certain Indian Cricket Council (ICC) TV broadcast rights for four years.
A source told Reuters, “The deal is off … ZEE said they are not in a position to pay.”

It is said that ZEE was to pay for the rights in installments but missed out on the first $200 million payment to Disney. ZEE’s troubles started earlier this week after Sony pulled out from a proposed $10 billion merger.
