ZEE to launch Telugu movie channel in India

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) will be launching its first movie channel in South India, ZEE Cinemalu in September.

According to TelevisionPost, ZEE Cinemalu will launch on 4th September and is currently in the process of signing agreements with various distribution platforms.

This is the first movie channel, ZEEL will launch to complement an existing South Indian language GEC. Up until now, ZEEL has presence in South India with ZEE Telugu, ZEE Tamil and ZEE Kannada. ZEEL already has movie and entertainment channels available for ZEE Marathi and ZEE Bangla.

ZEE Cinemalu will focus on an 18+ age group, skewing towards an Urban male viewer.

Tests of the channel are already underway.
