ZEE to launch kids channel, ZEE Q in India

ZEE India is planning to launch its first TV channel dedicated to children called ZEE Q.

The channel, which will consist of education and entertainment content, will sit under ZEE’s current children brand KidZee – the largest chain of preschools in India.

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd managing director and chief executive officer Punit Goenka told Indiantelevision.com in an interview, ���We will be launching a kids channel. It will be called Zee Q. The content will aim at learning through fun and entertainment.�۝

ZEE Q will compete with other huge rivals in the genre including Cartoon Network, Pogo, Disney, Hugama, Nick and Sonic, plus many others. The ad market for the genre is pegged at Rs 2.5 billion and is expected to grow 10 per cent year-on-year.
