ZEE Punjabi launches new daily drama

ZEE Punjabi, which has been available free-to-air for the past few days has encrypted today.

Behind the encryption window, the channel will unveil its new daily property – ‘Akhiyan Ton Door Jayeen Na’, a drama addressing many rampant social concerns including gender discrimination, family politics, the institution of marriage, plight of the poor along with others.

‘Akhiyan Ton Door Jayeen Na’ is directed by the eminent producer and director Sh. Gurbir Grewal, an alumnus of FTII known for his film ‘Mannat’.

On this occasion Ravi Arora, Business & Programming Head – ZEE ETC Punjabi says, “It was a much awaited move. This is nothing less than a breakthrough. With Ankhiyan ton door Jayeen Na, Punjabi entertainment breaks new frontiers. Punjabi viewers have been desperately awaiting something that they can personally relate to, something that smells and tastes like their own culture, something that they have a sense of belonging to.”

‘Akhiyan Ton Door Jayeen Na’ is scheduled for Monday to Friday at 20:00 on ZEE Punjabi.
