ZEE or TV Today to buy NDTV business channel?

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises and TV Today Network are the frontrunners to acquire NDTV’s business channel, NDTV Profit.

According to LiveMint, there is another buyer in the race for the channel too but did not disclose which one.

“If a good deal comes by, NDTV will certainly consider it. If the valuation is attractive, then the group may also consider selling the lifestyle channel as well,�۝ said a senior NDTV official directly involved in the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The report did not outline what assets would be part of the company along with NDTV Profit as the network’s other news channels share resources.

ZEE and TV Today Network currently do not have English business channels. ZEE, however does have ZEE Business – Hindi business news channel. With the purchase of NDTV Profit, either of the two networks will compete in the market dominated by CNBC-TV18, Bloomberg TV India and ET Now.
