ZEE Network ties up with London Eid party

ZEE Network has confirmed it has tied up with the Mayor of London to work on this year�۪s ‘Eid in Trafalgar Square’ celebration.

The fifth annual event scheduled for Sunday 26th September is set to attract over 30,000 visitors with a packed programme of live music and performers.

Highlights of this year�۪s event include; popular Nasheed artists Amir Awan, and Khaleel Mohammad, Acoustic Sufi Rock band, Silk Road, Quest-Rah ��� with his unique Hip-Hop sound, Akeem, a French based, rap/hip hop and spoken word band. Also present on the day will be artists, including Mumzy Stranger and SK1.

Hosting the event will be ZEE Network’s presenter Asad Shan, along with Hajra from programme ‘ZEE and U’.

In welcoming Zee onboard, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, acknowledged the network�۪s contribution to the event, “I�۪m delighted to welcome ZEE TV as the media partner for our fantastic Eid in the Square celebrations. Charity and community spirit lie at the heart of Eid teachings and it is with this in mind that I�۪m calling for Muslim volunteers to take part in our drive to get 5,000 volunteers to work with young people in uniformed groups, such as the Scouts and Cadets.”

ZEE Network will film three of its shows at the event – ‘Brits Bollywood’, ‘ZEE and U’ and ‘Out and About’.

Admission to the event is free.
