ZEE Network has launched its first all-cricket channel called Ten Cricket, which will be the sister channel of existing services Ten Sports and ZEE Sports.

The dedicated cricket channel will showcase a mix of live, non-live and feature programming. The channel will also broadcast live, high quality and first class cricketing action from the top test playing nations as well as customized content for the Indian audiences.

In the next six months, Ten Cricket plans to telecast eight Test Matches, 25 ODI۪s and five T20۪s. Ten Cricket will also telecast the important India-South Africa series comprising of three Test Matches, five One Day Internationals and one T20.

Ten Sports holds the rights of five cricket boards Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, West Indies and Zimbabwe. The channel simulcasts much of these tournaments on its UK channels ZEE Cinema and ZEE Cafe.

Speaking on the occasion, Atul Pande, CEO-Sports Business, ZEEL said, “India as a sporting nation is fast transforming from a single sport to a multi-sport nation. As India۪s leading sports broadcaster we understand that the sports consumption pattern of the Indian viewer raises the need for specialized differentiated sport channels and this is what we hope to deliver to our revered cricket viewers. Along with live cricket action, Ten Cricket will also showcase feature programming on cricket including magazine shows and archival programming; making Ten Cricket the most comprehensive cricket Channel in the broadcast space”

There are no such plans to launch Ten Cricket in the UK. Recently ZEE Network UK launched ZEE Cafe as the official broadcaster for its sports content, mixed with news and regional shows.
