ZEE Mela 2002 crowned HUGE success

The ZEE Network organised event Mela 2002 which took
place this past weekend at Birmingham’s NEC has been
dubbed a huge success. The mega event saw up to 33,000
members of the public attend the first Mela to be held
in Birmingham in conjunction with Midland’s based ITV
region Carlton. Stars which were present for the big
weekend were Anil Kapoor, Bally Sagoo, Apache Indian,
Nina Wadia, Meera Syal, Harbhajan Mann, DCS, D.I.P,
Narinder from Big Brother UK, Amit Channa from Bend It
Like Beckham and Miss India UK Sukhi.

ZEE Network UK’s Head of Marketing spoke to us
exclusively about the success: “Mela 2002’s success was
beyond our expectations. Crowds of people waited up to
four hours to get into the exhibition.”

ZEE Network’s marketing team provided bags of freebies
to the public with autographs from the stars attending
the event. ZEE’s very own stand at the Mela was packed
out with fans waiting hours to get autographs of their
favourite stars who came to the ZEE stand after their
performances on stage.
