ZEE introduces UK voting on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

In a first for UK Asian TV broadcasting, ZEE TV has introduced UK phone and SMS text voting on its popular talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has been the network’s most popular shows over the past few years and has had its most successful run very recently with ‘Challenge 2005’. To add to the continuing popularity of the show, ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ launched last month.

Seeing its equally growing popularity in the UK, the channel felt it should give its subscribers a chance to be part of the show by being able to do live voting.

Speaking to Biz Asia, a channel spokesman said; ” This not only keeps it entertaining but also viewers in the UK feel empowered to decide the destinies of the participants. There are three different ways of voting. We have set up nine telephone lines and also set up voting by way of texting form mobiles. Viewers can also vote by going on to our website – www.zeetv.co.uk.”

Every Saturday one Jodi (couple) gets eliminated and the voting for the next week starts immediately after the show. The channel will count all votes received until the following Thursday, which will then form the results for the Saturday night show.

The voting commenced on Sunday 2nd April and according to the channel it has received an “overwhelming response” from UK viewers.

The voting by way of Telephone & Text is handled by a company called Numeric Futures. This company is based in Birmingham and is run by a young energitic Asian gentleman by the name Asif Kika.
