With the announcement that &TV will be launching in the UK next month, ZEE Network has not ruled out further new channel launches.

It was hinted at the glitzy &TV launch event in London that a HD version of &TV could be launched in the UK later this year. If true, then this will be ZEE Network’s foray into HD broadcasting for UK viewers. Not only that, &TV HD would be the first free-to-air Asian service in the UK. Rival, Star Plus HD is only available as part of the HD subscription on Sky.

At the &TV media conference, Mr. Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, ZEE Network, said that English language channels like the recently launched ZEE World (dubbed English content from ZEE TV library) and the soon to launch ZEE News English channel could follow in the UK market.

It remains to be seen if these channels would launch anytime in the UK. At the moment though, ZEE is heavily investing in its &TV channel for UK viewers with an extensive marketing push beginning on Monday 30th March up and down the country.
