ZEE grabs Musafir & Raincoat movies

ZEE Network is grabbing last year’s big movies thick and fast. In what looks like a sensational move by ZEE at the start of 2005, it will be showing last month’s released blockbuster Raincoat in February.

Raincoat, which stars Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai was released in the last week of December 2004 and did average business at the box office. Now the film will be getting its world TV premiere on ZEE Cinema UK on Saturday 26th February at 20:00. If that wasn’t enough, ZEE has also secured the TV rights for hit movie Musafir. Although a telecast date and time has not been revealed as yet, the film was also released last month. It stars Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Sameera Reddy. Incidentally ZEE TV ran a competition late last year in which one lucky female ZEE viewer was given the chance to perform in an item song in the movie.

Later this month, ZEE Cinema is premiering Diwali 2004’s huge release Aitraaz starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

The popular network is certainly going the right way to entice viewers just before the grand launch of ZEE Cine Awards, which this year comes to London on Saturday 26th March.
