‘ZEE Companion’ to end on ZEE TV UK this week

As a part of its cost-cutting exercise, ZEE Network UK’s only live magazine show ‘ZEE Companion’ will be bidding adieu to viewers this week.

‘ZEE Companion’ launched in March 2014, as the first live phone-in show on ZEE TV UK. As well as entertainment interviews, the show also focused on lifestyle, health, immigration and political issues. However, the show’s ratings remained on the lower side since its inception.

The show originally launched as a five-minute feature on the channel, it was then extended to 60-minutes and then reduced to a 30-minute programme.

‘ZEE Companion’ has been broadcasting live from ZEE TV UK’s high-end studios in Harrow, which were built specifically for its local productions. However, with rising costs, low audience figures and commercial returns, the plan met with a lukewarm response.

The final episode of ‘ZEE Companion’ airs this Friday, 1st February 2019.
