After keeping quiet for months, ZEE Cinema UK has unleashed a new strategy to entice viewers with a weekly movie premiere, starting this September.
The broadcaster holds the rights to some of the biggest recent movie titles including ‘Simmba’, ‘Bharat’, ‘Dhadak’, ‘Veere Di Wedding’, ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Namaste England’, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, ‘Parmanu’, amongst many others. The titles have readily been available on digital platforms like ZEE5 for a number of months.
Starting from Sunday 8th September at 18:00, ZEE Cinema UK will premiere a big movie title, airing on UK Asian television for the first time. The first film will be ‘Manmarziyaan’ starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The Anurag Kashyap love triangle film, is set in Amritsar. It is about Rumi and Vicky, who are in love, are caught by Rumi’s parents and pressurised to get married. However, Vicky is unwilling to commit. A frustrated Rumi agrees to an arranged marriage with Robbie. What ensues is a muddled love triangle.
