ZEE Caf̩ celebrates one year on-air

ZEE Caf̩ has today celebrated its first birthday in the UK.

In its first year ZEE Caf̩ has provided coverage to cricket fans with live and exclusive international cricket, including the biggest cricket tournament, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

With its dedicated programmes for the substantial Bangladeshi community in the UK, ZEE Caf̩ has quickly established a strong affinity with Bengali and Bangladeshi audiences, becoming the preferred partner of the BBC World Service Trust to broadcast their supernatural drama series – ‘Bishaash’.

Along with this ZEE Caf̩ features the most popular shows from ZEE Bangla, including the best in genre shows such as ‘Agni Pariksha’, ‘Khona’, ‘Dadagiri’ and ‘Dance Bangla Dance’.

Additionally, ZEE Caf̩ features Marathi language programming from ZEE’s Marathi channel.

Bharat Ranga, Executive Director, International Operations, ZEE Network, “The objectives for the launch of ZEE Caf̩ were twofold, to extend the programming offering for our existing loyal subscribers within their existing package, and to capture regional audiences with our top-rated vernacular content from Zee channels in India. On both counts ZEE Caf̩ has proved to be a success. However, ZEE Caf̩ is still growing and we are not resting on our laurels. Long term success is dependent on ongoing dialogue with our subscribers and continued refinement of our offering to ensure their needs are met.”

ZEE Caf̩ commenced broadcasting on Thursday 15th July 2010 on Sky.
