Zayn Malik’s sister’s wedding “broken up by police” for flouting Covid-19 rules

Zayn Malik’s sister Waliyha’s wedding had to be “broken up by the police” after the number of guests flouted the tier 3 restrictions in place for the area it was being held in.

A report in the Daily Mail says the wedding took place in Bradford with Waliha marrying her beau Junaid Khan. It was an event in Zayn’s other sister Saffa’s home but the current tier 3 rules state only 15 people can attend a wedding ceremony. At this ceremony, there are believed to have been 40 people in attendance.

It’s thought that neighbours in the area alerted the police who arrived at the house at 6pm. A spokesperson stated, “Police attended an address just after 6pm on Saturday evening following a report of a large party. A group of people were fined inside the address and fixed penalty notices were issued as a breach of coronavirus restrictions had been committed”.

Zayn himself did not attend the wedding.
