YRF to remake ��Kahaani�۪ in Hollywood

Uday Chopra, who has started to take his father�۪s company Yash Raj Films to Hollywood, with its branch YRF Entertainment, has announced his next project.�� The company has acquired rights to remake Sujoy Ghosh�۪s ��Kahaani�۪ (2012) in Hollywood.

Confirming the news to Deadline Hollywood and announcing that the film will be directed by Niels Arden Oplev, Chopra said, ���Niels has an elevated understanding of both international thrillers and strong female characters and his vision for capturing the vibrancy and energy of contemporary Calcutta will appeal to audiences in the US and worldwide.�۝

The remake has been titled ��Deity�۪ and the director, Oplev, says the film will be ���a fascinating clash between American and Indian culture.�۝

Oplev has previously directed ��The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo�۪ (2009). �ʉ�Deity�۪ is expected to start shooting in the early months of 2015 and thus casting details should be announced soon.
