YRF Talent reacts to Ashish Patil’s sexual harassment claims

The MeToo campaign has been gathering pace in India, with latest reports linking Ashish Patil, the Talent and Business Head of Yash Raj Films, to sexual harassment claims.

In a development to the movement, Japleen Pasricha shared screenshots of a woman, who allegedly suffered from misconduct by Patil. Reports say that she met Patil at Yash Raj Films office, where he asked her to go out for a drive with him. It was then he had allegedly touched her inapproriately. Apparently, he also forced a kiss at the time.

She writes, “He’d visit my place and yes every time tried his moves until he got his way.” He rejected the script eventually but kept telling her that YRF is looking for lead girls and that she needs to make audition videos. When she mailed him her videos, he liked them but then asked her to try for TV. The woman felt ‘misused’ and was ‘broken’, but he continued to call her. She finally met him outside YRF office and he reasoned that he is busy with his son’s autism treatment, hence can’t pay attention to her. She finally decided to confront him and was ‘blunt, brash and showed him the mirror’, he blocked her.

In response to the allegations, Yash Raj Films released a statement, promising to take the strictest action.
