Yash Chopra statue to be unveiled today

After his sad and sudden demise in October last year, the late Yash Chopra’s statue will be unveiled this afternoon by his wife, Pamela. The memorial statue will be revealed at Yash Raj studios.

It is thought that Mrs Chopra will be doing the honours after the first choice, Amitabh Bachchan, had prior commitments. The statue will have prime of place alongside statues of other greats such as Dev Anand and Raj Kapoor at the Bandstand promenade.

Rani Mukerji will be present at the event, as will Chopra’s younger son, Uday.
