Yami Gautam on if she had not become an actor
Yami Gautam entered Bollywood with ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012) and has not looked back since. The actress, who had previously acted on television, reveals that had she not become an actor, she would have been a lawyer.
Gautam told Deccan Chronicle, “If not in films, I would have been a criminal lawyer… Not many know that I have finished my graduation in Arts, though through a correspondence course; I missed college. However, I wanted to study law. I did begin with my LLB, but could not become a specialised lawyer, as I turned to films by then.”
The actress also revealed that she was not happy working on the small screen.
“I did very little work on television, though I started my career there. With due respect to the medium, I was not happy with whatever I was doing then. I sat with my family one day, and decided to take a break. It was after a month or so, that I began doing commercials actively. I would go on an audition spree, holding placards like it is shown in films,” she added.
She will next be seen in Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ opposite Hrithik Roshan, which releases later this month.
