Working with Imtiaz Ali challenges Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor’s last release, ‘Bombay Velvet’ (2015), may not have lived up to expectations but the actor is now excited for the release of Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’ later this year. Kapoor feels working with Ali is a challenge for the actor in him and an experience he values.
Speaking toHindustan Times, Kapoor said,”Working with Imtiaz challenges you as an actor. He makes you unlearn what you already know. He changes your perception and method as an actor…I have lived a very sheltered life in Bandra, in a rich family. I۪ve travelled the world, but I۪m not too aware of what is happening in my country. I haven۪t travelled much within India. So, when I work with directors like Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz, they give me characters or channels that I have never seen. I try to express myself through them.”
Kapoor previously worked with Ali for ‘Rockstar’ (2011), which won the actor many Best Actor trophies.
‘Tamasha’, which is slated for release on November 27th, sees Kapoor pair up with once-girlfriend Deepika Padukone. The duo were last seen together in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013).
