WMC to look after Music India UK; Sun TV in US

World Media Connect (WMC), the distributors of Imagine…Dil Se in the UK, has now taken charge of advertising sales of Music India UK and Sun Network in the States.

Music India, which has been independent since its launch in 2008 has had ex-personnel from the likes of MATV and B4U Music associating with the channel. However, this will be the biggest push the channel will get with WMC also looking at overlooking programming and making it a serious contender to compete with established brands such as B4U Music and Zing. A new schedule is expected on Music India from next month.

It’s no big secret that WMC has managed to make Imagine…Dil Se (formerly NDTV Imagine) into one of the biggest successes on the Sky Digital platform.

Similarly, to expand further in the North American market, Sun TV Network has appointed Global Media Management LLC and World Media LLC to manage and grow its distribution and advertising business, respectively in the region.

Global Media Management, a consulting, rights management and acquisition company will operate, manage and increase the distribution of Sun TV۪s offerings in the North American markets. Meanwhile, World Media Connect LLC will exclusively focus on managing and bolstering the advertising revenues of the Network from the same market.

According to the company, the key focus behind this strategic move is to diverge and expand into the North American markets by increasing subscription base and consecutively growing advertising revenues.

Ajay Vidyasagar, COO, Sun TV Network commented on the move, “This is a strategic move for us to further expand into global markets for our offerings. This initiative is focused on better monetisation of our content, both from the subscriber and the advertising revenue end. It also gives us a mean to leverage our successful television brands to a larger and international audience while maintaining a consistent and distinguished quality of services to the end customer.”
