‘Why Cheat India’ premieres on ZEE5

ZEE5 has strengthened its movies catalogue with the global digital premiere of 2019 crime drama ‘Why Cheat India’.

The film is a crime drama revolving around the education system and pressure faced by students to excel in examinations. Directed by Soumik Sen, the movie is edgy and has an intriguing plot line. Set in small towns, the film highlights the education system and various facets lamented due to the pressure of examination.

Manish Aggarwal, Business Head, ZEE5 India, said, “We are working towards building a robust movie library which includes all shades of entertainment for our viewers and adding Why Cheat India is a step in that direction. We received a fantastic response for URI – The Surgical Strike and Simmba which were screened earlier this year. We are continuously working towards bringing together content which is appreciated and loved by audiences.”

Director Soumik Sen commented, “We are looking forward to our film, Why Cheat India to premier on ZEE5 and reach a large segment of the audience. It is a compelling story which depicts the pressures levied by the Indian education system on students and how Emraan Hashmi’s character, Rakesh runs a scam around it. The film is layered and has an intriguing climax.”
