With legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan having celebrated his 70th birthday, and continuously receiving great appreciation for his work, it’s hard to believe how anyone would refuse him. However news has it that once upon a time Bollywood diva, Sridevi, did just that at the peak of her career.

Ruling the film industry with heroine-focused hitslike ‘Chandni’ (1989), ‘Nagina’ (1986′) and ‘Chaalbaaz’ (1989), according to NDTV, Sridevi didn’t want to play roles in which the hero was portrayed more dominantly. So when she was approached by filmmakers to star opposition Bachchan, she allegedly turned them down, as she felt more attention would begiven tohim.

Thankfully, as time wenton, the actress came to her senses and signed on more films regardless of the actor, and eventually even starred opposition Bachchan in the 1993 film ‘Khuda Gawa’.

Her recent release, ‘English Vinglish’ (2012), has been receiving rave reviews andSridevi herself has receivedcritical acclaim for her performance. Coincidentally, Bachchan also does a cameo in the film in what is an absolute treat for any B-town cinema-goer.
