Running solely on Dharma and Karan Johar�۪s brand value, this week�۪s big release ��Student Of The Year�۪ has opened to a decent response at the Indian box office.
Starring three newcomers Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, the film opened well at multiplexes with collections at around 45-50% (source:��Box Office India) in the metros with Delhi being the strongest. In the long run, Hollywood release ��Skyfall�۪ which hits the marquee next week will inevitably decide the fate of Johar�۪s campus romance at the turnstiles.
Moving on to other releases, diva Sridevi�۪s comeback ��English Vinglish�۪ has done decent business in India and is a success overseas grossing approximately �345,000 in the UK (source: BFI).

India�۪s official entry to the Oscars, the Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer ��Barfi!�۪ has now collected �710,000 in the UK (source:��Box Office Mojo). A surprise success it is now slowly on its way out.
