Newbie director Shai Hussain is all set for his new web-series to launch tomorrow (14th April). ‘Three Shades of Brown’ is about three Asian males who share a flat and their characters are meant to be a definitive split between three very different personalities – a freshy, a coconut and a rudeboy. At a special press screening of the first series, Hussain confirmed that even before its first episode is live, the web-series will be reaching a wider audience because it has been selected for the New York Indian Film Festival 2014.
Hussain told BizAsia his thoughts about ‘Three Shades of Brown’ being selected in the short film category, “I am so excited to hear that Three Shades of Brown has got through to the New York Indian Film Festival and that it will greadually find an audience stateside. Better get to work on subtitles though. Nobody out there will understand a word of Nas’ Northern accent”.
Nas is the ‘rudeboy’, played by Muzz Khan. The web-series also featured Navinder Bhatti and Omar Khan who essay the ‘coconut’ and ‘freshy’ characters respectively.
The series is written and produced by Hussain too and will see a new episode every week. The first series consists of eight episodes.
