Her debut will have her sharing screen space with non other than superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Maneesh Sharma’s ‘Fan’, however,Waluscha De Sousa has already come a long way in her professional and personal life. With this it seems, she is in a place where she has no fear and is ready to take on her new world.

Having begun her modelling career at a young age, she went on to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant. She then met and married supermodel-actor Marc Robinson and had three children. Though the marriage of 10 years ended in 2012, De Sousa has no bitterness about it. Talking about the marriageMumbai Mirror, reported the model-turned-actress expressing, “It all happened very quickly and I disappeared into another life. I was only 19 and in love, it felt like the right thing to do at the time. I’ve never tried to over-think a situation or fight what life has in store. I’ve always followed my heart. I got married and had three babies, it was a part of my life’s journey.”

She went onto talk about parting with her husband, explaining, “When you decide to move on, there is no looking back. Of course, like with any estranged couple, our kids keep us together. They are strong and amazing, I’m really proud of them.”

Talking about her acting debut, De Sousa spoke to the media about her experience in working with Khan. “He’s so calm and dedicated, once he’s on the sets, it’s just the film, everything else takes a backseat. He just looked at me calmly as if to say, don’t worry, I have all the time in the world. Fumble as many times as you want because that’s the only way to learn.” she said.

Having realised how to live a fulfilling and authentic life through her past experiences, De Sousa seems to be looking forward, and has a clear idea of how she wants her acting career to go. Like any new actor, working with big names of the industry will always be on the agenda, as the actress expressed, “I want to stick around for a while here, there are so many directors I’d like to work with like Anurag Kashyap whose cinema inspires me, Hansal Mehta who would challenge me as an actress and the genius Sanjay Leela Bhansali working with whom will be a dream come true. But I also want to work in commercial films.”

Reflecting a calm and confident personality, De Sousa sure seems to be in a much better place than that of many of her contemporaries who have yet to have such life changing experiences. Talking about her life right now, she said, “I’m in a happy space today, very content physically, emotionally and mentally. I’m living every moment unlike my modelling days when I would take certain things for granted. I want to make the most of every opportunity.”

“I am a believer in love. My marriage may have ended, but that hasn’t turned me into a cynic. Right now I’m completely focused on my work but I’m pretty sure that love will definitely find me again,” she added.

‘Fan’ will see Khan playing a double role, and is set to hit the big screens on 15th April.
