Voot announces second season launch of ‘It’s Not That Simple’

Digital platform, Voot has announced the second season launch of ‘It’s Not That Simple’.

Inspiring the new age woman from all walks of life, the show is headlined by Swara Bhaskar, Sumeet Vyas, Purab Kohli, Vivan Bhatena and Karanveer Mehra.

Commenting on the launch, Monika Shergill – Head-Content, Viacom18 Digital Ventures (Voot) said, “Timely and relevant , our new Voot Original takes the current gender conflict head on with a powerful female character and 4 alpha males each with their ambitions , truths and choices! No one is entirely right or fully wrong and the answers are as complex in a gender debate as the questions. Voot has always told nuanced , thought provoking stories and It’s Not That Simple will force you to have a point of view.”

Talking about the show, Swara Bhaskar who portrays Mira Verma said, “She is grey, she is flawed and above everything else she is real. It was fun to play a working woman and a single mother whose priorities are clear- love and relationship can wait, but a paycheck can’t. My role will appeal to many women and also men who believe in gender equality.”

Talking about being a part of the show Sumeet Vyas, said, “This show is ahead of the curve and being a part of it leaves me feeling both honoured and excited. My character Dev is full of shades of black and grey, he is fuelled by ambition, a go getter but also becomes emotionally vulnerable when he meets his match in Mira; Having played many light hearted characters, playing Dev was not only challenging but supremely exciting”

Portraying Angad Shergill, Purab Kohli further commented, “The progressive narrative of the show compelled me to be a part of it. My character is of an honest to boot and outspoken journalist who stands for justice and gender equality. Angad is a brash, fun guy who truly believes that the world needs feminist men, now more than ever.”

Produced by Victor Tango Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Directed by Danish Aslam, all episodes of this highly topical Original series will stream exclusively on Voot starting 14th December 2018.
