Vishal Bhardwaj’s ambitious ‘Churiya’ on hold for ‘Sapna Didi’

Vishal Bhardwaj is known to make thought-invoking films, ones that come with impressive casting and acting. He was reportedly aiming to start an ambitious project titled ‘Churiya’, but it will be on hold for another film that he will be directing.

Deccan Chronicle reports that the casting for ‘Churiya’ was supposed to begin, with filming to follow in  February or March, but will now start in June, as Bhardwaj will be directing the tentatively titled ‘Sapna Didi’. A source revealed, “Sapna Didi is just a working title. It’s a very sensitive and appealing subject, for which Vishal wants to take his own time. Earlier Honey Trehan was supposed to direct the movie, but because of creative differences they mutually decided Vishal should helm it.”

Bhardwaj last directed Kangna Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Rangoon’ (2017).
