Vipul Shah feels Amitabh-Akshay are biggest action stars in India

Filmmaker Vipul Shah, who directed many memorable action films, feels that Akshay Kumar is the most versatile actor after megastar Amitabh Bachchan and is the second biggest action star in India.

He told IANS, “I think it is a myth that action stars in India cannot act. I feel the biggest action star in India is Amitabh Bachchan and the aura of Angry Young Man started with him. How can people even dare to say that action stars cannot act? He was the first genuine action hero of India and for me he is the God of acting.”

He added, “Second next to Amitabh Bachchan comes Akshay Kumar. He established himself as an action star but everybody now talks about Akshay Kumar being the most versatile actor in Bollywood. Have a look at Baby, Airlift, Special 26��_ He was phenomenal. Everybody is capable of acting.”

Kumar will be seen yet again in Vipul Shah’s directorial, ‘Namastey England’. Both have given many hits together in the form of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ (2008), ‘Holiday’ (2014) and many more.

The filmmaker feels that content-based films never fail at the box office, even in the absence of big superstar.��He also applauded for Sonam Kapoor starrer, ‘Neerja’, which became of of the biggest female centric films to date.
