Vikramaditya Motwane on future of Phantom Films

Since rumours surfaced about an employee of Phantom Films and a harrassment accusation against Vikas Bahl, the future of Phantom Films has been in doubt. However, even though noone has spoken out, Vikramaditya Motwane says he’s still going to remain with the production company and has revealed its forthcoming slate.

“Phantom is working on a horror-specific slate with Blumhouse Productions and Ivanhoe Pictures this year and we have already gone into production with the films. It’s something we are producing at the moment for sure,” said Motwane, according to Ahmedabad Mirror.

Motwane continues, “I’m producing these films for now, and I would love to direct a horror under the banner too. I love horror films because they’re a great challenge with the casting. It’s all about the timing and how to get the scares”.

On whether a sequel to 2010’s ‘Udaan’ is on the cards, Motwane responds, “It will be a continuation, 10-12 years after the original ended. I always thought I had so much time to start writing Udaan 2, and now I realise that seven years have flown by and I’ll have to get to it”.
