Vikram Bhatt: “Nude woman demonic not sleazy”

The filmmaker reveals the raaz behind Kriti Kharbanda�۪s nude scene in the upcoming ��Raaz Reboot�۪

First it was Malini Sharma who sat nude by the fireside in Vikram Bhatt�۪s ��Raaz�۪ and then in ��Raaz 3�۪, Esha Gupta, terrified by the cockroaches crawling up her body, undresses herself while running stark naked into a party. But looks like the fascination for showing women in the buff, albeit aesthetically, is not over for Bhatt. Now, keeping up with this ��Raaz�۪ tradition is Kriti Kharbanda – the leading lady of Bhushan Kumar�۪s Raaz Reboot ��� who has stripped for the film.

While Bhatt refuses to divulge any details about Kharbanda�۪s scene in the film, he insists that the nudity in Raaz series is not sleazy at all. ���A woman throwing all caution to wind and exposing herself in her natural state while in a state of possession is demonic in nature and not titillating the audience.�۝

Bhatt adds, ���I think it is fiercely demonic when a woman shuns all societal parameters to reveal herself. It is not sleazy or even blatantly sexual. When possessed, a person loses all inhibitions. That�۪s what these characters go through. A woman shedding her clothes is literally a shedding of her inhibitions for me because socially, that�۪s not what women are expected to do. So, when a woman exposes herself in her natural state, it’s like she has been subdued and the demon is in control. She’s at that point when who or what is around her just doesn�۪t matter… She doesn�۪t care who�۪s watching….She doesn�۪t care if it�۪s minus 10 degrees outside, like in ��Raaz Reboot’!”
