Vikas Bahl’s defamation case gets another hearing on 21st November

Vikas Bahl’s defamation case against his former partners is still ongoing, as the statements keep rolling in.

Bahl filed a defamation case against his former Phantom partners Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and others after they distanced themselves from him due to sexual assault accusations. A hearing on 23rd October focused on affidavits by Kashyap and Motwane and a statement from the victim of the assault.

At the latest hearing, the victim reaffirmed her statement on oath in an affidavit to ensure her claims are not dismissed by the court, Times of India reported. An affidavit by Ranjan Singh, the former head of a department at Phantom Films was submitted as well, which stated that a meeting was held in March, 2017 with several heads of departments, including Kashyap, Motwane and Mantena to inform everyone about the sexual misconduct allegations against Bahl. It was decided then that Bahl will not be working with or from the company’s office and will go to a rehabilitation center.

Mantena also submitted an affidavit, stating that he was not present in Goa at the time of the incident. He also pointed out that Bahl’s memory of the meeting is incorrect, and while he did commit to seeking help to fix his conduct and to sign up for rehab, he did not apologize for his behaviour.

The next hearing on this matter will take place on 21st November.
