Vikas Bahl sends defamation notice to Anurag Kashyap over sexual harassment allegations

Vikas Bahl has issued a legal notice for defamation to Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane over the ongoing controversy surrounding sexual allegations circulating the media.

In 2017, a former Phantom Films’ employee had accused ‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl of sexual harassment. Kashyap had apologised to the young woman, while Motwane came out also in support of the former employee. This has irked Bahl, prompting him to issue the legal notice to his former business partners. Bahl has vehemently denied the claims.

The legal notice was published by PinkVilla, in which it states that Kashyap will be required to delete the apology tweet and refrain from making any comments about the alleged sexual harassment incident. Failure to do so, could result in Kashyap then being charged under Section 499 and 500 of the India Penal Code amongst others.

The film ‘Super 30’, which is also produced by Bahl, is expected to release as per schedule in January next year. However, references of Bahl are rumoured to be deleted from the credit roll.
