Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’ sold to Amazon Prime Video?
The upcoming and highly anticipated film, ‘Liger,’ starring South superstar Vijay Deverakonda, is one of the most awaited films of this year. Director Puri Jagannadh’s film is set release in cinemas in 2022. However, reports have already begun to circulate about the streaming details of the film.
According to reports, the filmmakers of ‘Liger,’ which also stars Ananya Panday, have secured Amazon Prime as the OTT platform where the movie will be streamed.
Amazon Prime have apparently purchased the OTT rights to the movie for Rs 60 crore, reports Box Office Worldwide. However, no formal confirmation has yet been given. According to sources, the film’s producers initially requested Rs 80 crore from Amazon Prime, but this did not materialise.
‘Liger’ is a sports action film both written and directed by Jagannadh, with Karan Johar, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, and Hiroo Yash Johar listed as producers. Dharma Productions and Puri Connects are also in collaboration on the movie.
The movie releases later in August this year.
